Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

I don't understand why this place hasn't been reviewed in such a long time, but the deep dish was deelilcious!! Husband and I came here tonight for the first time, and considering that our first visit was to the original Greektown location, we were hoping for the same wonderful experience. We ordered a medium deep dish with spinach, chicken breast, garlic, and onions ($27.42). It was pretty big, but we anticipated this, but man, I didn't realize that it would be so heavy! That sucker was filled! Anyway, we took it to go (as it was getting close to quittin' time for the staff) and on the drive home, both Husband and I commented on how lovely it smelled. We really couldn't wait to dig in! Opening the box, the smell was awesome. We really appreciated the craftmanship of the pizza. The one we had in Detroit was a little sloppier in execution (granted that it was a much larger one), but what really stood out about tonight's pizza was that the crust wasn't burnt and it was not mushy. The toppings proportion to sauce, cheese and crust was well-balanced so you never felt like you were eating just crust and tomato sauce. The sprinkling of parmesan cheese on top was a nice addition to the overall flavor of ingredients. In the end, we will definitely be coming back to this location, as it is the closest one to us and we liked it even better than the Greektown location. Service was still great even though we picked it up 15 minutes to closing time. Ingredients tasted fresh and the chicken breast wasn't dry or rubbery. Next time, we will probably just dine in. So, if you're in a mood for Chicago-style deep dish pizza, hop on over here! You won't leave hungry!

"Meh" indeed...I hadn't had Pizza Papalis for years, but I remembered trying to cram just ONE MORE BITE in because it was THAT good! I remember my coworkers getting into fights over the last piece when we brought it in for lunch! This location disappointed, however. It's no secret that a Papalis pizza isn't cheap, but for the price we found ourselves hunting for the toppings we'd ordered because we weren't quite sure there was anything in there other than crust, sauce, and cheese. The dough was heavy (not in a good deep-dish way) and almost undercooked. The Greek side-salad was a joke and the dressing was strangely sweet. Major bummer and not worth the price, but I'll try the downtown location again before I write them off altogether.

For deep dish, how do you determine a good deep dish pizza? Is it the crust, maybe the sauce, how about the toppings, or does the answer lie with the cheese? It's all of them, but each one individually. Pizza Papalis' deep dishes started in greektown in the original location. They would make a deep dish that you would never forget and driver across the state to have. I was hoping this place would deliver the same flavor, texture, and pizza as before. Well, it's close but not 100% there. The greektown deep dish pizza would have received at least four stars, this one three. Starting with the crust, it's wonderfully think, greasy on the bottom, and think on the side and bottom. The sauce hits its mark by having a delicious tomato base and strong with oregano. The cheese is good, elastic when it's hot. The website states they offer low fat cheese by saying "Lite Cheese". However, when ordering, don't say with Lite Cheese, because they'll put less cheese on it. Make sure you say, low fat cheese. The toppings, having only ordered a few, were very weak. The one that really didn't meet expectations was the garlic. I imagined full roasted garlic cloves and it turned out to be garlic powder. You can imagine my shock and disappointment. Don't over order, with just three pieces of a deep dish, you'll be very full.

i really used to enjoy pizza papalis as a teenager. when i was just becoming a foodie i thought it to be something new and interesting. i could go to greek town and get a shrimp and spinach pie and eat it knowing that i was better than all other teenagers in waterford. i had ventured alone to detroit and ate something as crazy as shrimp and spinach. i was from waterford and poor so give me a break on my crazy food items. recently we decided at work to order a pizza papalis and i had these visions in my head. nostalgia can sometimes kick you in the ass. 2 small pizzas cost 25 dollars takeout. when i got them back to the office the pizzas were cold. the sauce had that horrible acidic taste. hey, guys, you can kill that with a little sugar. even my trailer trash mom in waterford knew that when she made the ragu! the crust was cold and had that bad cold greasy stick to the top of your mouth thing going on. where it sticks to your tongue and you have to drink something or brush your teeth to get rid of. the pepperoni was cold and had the consistency of just being taken out of the plastic wrapping at a supermarket. it was cold also. my memories dashed i chose to never order pizza papalis again and to inform all yelpers to do the same. love, juston

Its been a few years since I've been to this exact location, so I'll just be reviewing PizzaPapalis in general. The best pizza I've put in my mouth. This is the definition of a pizza pie. Deep dish. Thick. Gooey. Chocked full of whatever your desire. And the crust...merciful heavens. Seriously, this pie is perfect form the top to the bottom. My favorite part really is the crust, which is the best crust I've had on a pizza. Its a thick crust which is flaky, buttery and has a unique taste which compliments the pizza itself perfectly. I can't remember what kinds of toppings or specialty pizzas they have, because I always get the sausage and pepperoni. But I do remember they had a nice selection of delicious sounding specialties (Hawaiian, all kinds of chicken pizzas, even Mid-Eastern stuff). The sauce is the next best part, because it is not too...anything. Some sauces can be too sweet, too tangy, too bland, too this or that. But this sauce is perfectly balanced, and they don't give you too much or too little. I don't call something perfect unless I really feel that way, and I will say that this sauce is perfect. I'm the kind of guy who eats pizza like I'm eating potato chips. I'll eat it til' its gone. But the heartiness of these slices will have even the most determined devourer of foods huffing and puffing after 3 pieces. So yes, you get full for your money. I can't really remember how much a personal pan will cost, but I remember eating it like 4 times a week...so it can't cost that much. This review is for someone who passed by a PizzaPapalis and just weren't sure if they should stop. The answer is 'YES'. You will not be disappointed. I have met NO man, woman, child, or other being who does not at least like this pizza.
